The China's International Hospital Accreditation Standards (2021 Version) (hereafter referred to as the ''CIHA Standards (2021)", which was formulated by SHARC in accordance with the principles of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) and the hospital accreditation practices of China, was accredited by ISQua External Evaluation Association (IEEA) in February 2022. Since 2023, SHARC has adopted this set of internationally recognised standards for the accreditation survey of Class 3 hospitals in Shenzhen. Hospitals attaining SHARC accreditation proves that their healthcare quality and patient safety have also reached the international level.
The value of international hospital accreditation is to enable hospitals to maximise the realisation of the service concept of “patient-centerd, quality-centerd, and improving patient experience as the goal", establish efficient and effective management policies and procedures; continuously improve service quality; standardise hospital management; and provide thoughtful and high-quality services to patients and stakeholders. International accreditation is of great significance for hospitals through instilling advanced international management and healthcare service concepts to hospitals. It also helps introduce them to the international market and to attain international recognition.
